Great News for Schools!

The Queensland State Government released the following statement allowing the resumption of School Camps in Queensland!

"Excursions and camps

Excursions and camps are permitted to be held at locations or businesses that have approved COVID Safe Industry Plans and Department of Education Outdoor and Environmental Education Centres (O&EEC). Each O&EEC with residential facilities will be required to follow the department’s Guidelines for state school-operated residential boarding facilities.

If excursions and camps are to be held at a business or organisation not covered by an approved COVID Safe Industry Plan, the principal must ensure all measures have been taken to meet departmental and Chief Health Officer requirements. An excursion / camp risk assessment taking into account approved COVID-19 control measures must be undertaken prior to approval."

Thank you also for your support and co-operation at this difficult time and we apologise for the unavoidable inconveniences. Camp Somerset upholds the right of refusal to entry and/or Service to clients who refuse to comply with the conditions of the COVID Safe plans and by entering the property the client/visitor is confirming that they have not in the last 14 days:

  • Had any COVID-19 Symptoms, such as cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue and shortness of breath.

  • Anyone of the same household had any COVID-19 Symptoms, such as cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue and shortness of breath.

  • Have been in contact with any confirmed/suspected COVID-19 Case.

  • Have been in a declared hotspot in the past 14 days.

  • Have had anyone of their household in a declared hotspot in the past 14 days.

We continue to pray for God’s leading and protection and we know He will remain with us all at this challenging time.
